Overseas products and standards timeline for up and coming changes

  1. April 2024: Government announces plan to remove barriers to using overseas building products.
  2. Quarter four 2024: Legislation introduced to amend the Building Act, Select Committee process which includes public engagement
  3. Quarter four 2024: After Select Committee public engagement, there will be public consultation on regulation to support changes to the building act.
  4. End of 2024: Changes to Building Act passed.
